After a long wait and many long nights after hours at work I finally have the first pair assembled. This is what I receive from the machinist across the parking lot.
I perform all the CNC lathe work along with machining the throttle shafts and plates. Ready for the Haas to do it's job.
Sorry, no GoPro footage this time, I was in a hurry.
All finished.
Say hello to an available 1196 CFM folks!
I hope to perform some initial testing this weekend (seals/idle control etc.) and then ship them off early next week for the real test. Assuming everything checks out OK I should start taking orders in a week or two. Pricing is still yet to be determined (still waiting for pricing on the milled billets) but expect between $425-$475 including new Delrin linkage spacers. I will most likely offer a group buy for the first 20-25 sets and then set the standard price after those are sold off. This has been a very interesting (and somewhat stressful) undertaking but I feel great now that I have a functioning pair of my very own design. On that note what do you guys think of my brand name? I think I'm going to go with "American Made Stuff" ;)
